We have a project in the exploration phase that is asking if they can transform an unused third floor/attic space in an Existing Apartment Building without adding sprinklers. They will meet all the other requirements if they go forward, but the sprinkler cost seems to be an obstacle.    Some background on the building. Three story

Hi,  I'm in a situation with a process that requires addition of powder to a 250L tank that contains ethanol. About 5 kg of powder is added, in 1kg batches. The issue I have is that the powders are weighed and dispensed in a non-conductive plastic bag, and from reading NFPA 30 and NFPA 77, this is prohibited due to the static buildup risk.

Hello, how do drivers for fire pumps in NFPA 20 sprinkler installations have to be sized correctly? Do the drivers have to be sized only up to the 150% of the rated flow or do the drivers have to be sized to the non-overloading power consumption point which is tested/examined at fire pump such as FM approval or UL listing?

Does a door that is currently block required to have the furniture remove. Door is label not an exit per fire marshal prior instructions. Now during current Fire inspections door was call out requiring for the furniture in front of the block door to be remove, or door to be fill in. I cant find either an argument that support  that the

I can see how Link can be useful, but I'm not looking for references in the field as a fire AHJ and/or engineer. This would seem to cause more problems than it solves for individuals in the field.
