The Fire Protection Research Foundation is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to plan, manage and communicate research in support of the NFPA mission. Firefighter Health Week National Firefighter Health Week 2011 is being held this week, August 14-20. This year's theme is: "When it comes to your health, you're always on duty." Each day of the week focuses on a different topic to help first responders take steps towards a healthy lifestyle.

The National Firefighter Health Week Resource Center focuses each day on a particular topic, and provides resources, tools, and activity ideas specific to each.

Monday, August 15 - CRISIS: Understanding the Risk
Increase awareness and understanding of health risks to firefighters and EMS personnel.
