Firefighters in Vacaville, Calif. were shopping at a Costco over Memorial Day weekend for groceries. Before reaching the cashier, they received an emergency call and had to leave. Upon their return, they found the receipt shown above; an Air Force wife had paid for their $123.25 worth of groceries just to say thanks. Since they did not know who had done this, the firefighters took to their Facebook page to offer their thanks.

The firefighters pay $25 each per shift for meals, but they said that they were not going to keep the money they saved that day. Instead, they want to pay it forward. So, when they encountered an elderly couple buying flowers for Memorial Day, they covered the bill; and, they said they're planning to host a 90-year-old World War II veteran for dinner soon.
