The Technical Committee of NFPA 80 has revised the requirements for the inspections of fire rated assemblies beginning with the 2007 Edition. Requirements for annual fire door assembly inspections include visual inspections, testing for functional operational, and acceptance testing by qualified persons with knowledge and understanding of the operating components of the type of assembly being subject to testing.
The NFPA 80: Overview of the Installation and Maintenance Requirements for Fire Door Assemblies Webinar will provide a detailed review of NFPA 80: Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives Chapters 4-5-6 to assist the webinar participants in understanding and applying the requirements of the revised care, maintenance, and inspection requirements of these NFPA 80 chapters. Specific application to health care occupancies will be discussed
