Technical Rescue Documents to Align

Blog Post created by Curt Floyd Employee on Jun 16, 2015

In a combined effort, both the technical committees for NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications and NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents are working to align the documents
so that they better relate to each other making it easier for the end user to utilize. A joint task group met in January 2015 to begin the process. The NFPA 1006 Technical Committee met in February for their First Draft and the 1670 Technical Committee met for their First Draft in April of this year with several changes in both documents comprising of almost a complete rewrite to both. The next joint 1006/1670 task group will meet again in early November to continue its work. You can follow the process by visiting either www.nfpa.org/1006 or www.nfpa.org/1670.
