At the April Standards Council meeting a new document was approved for the selection, care and maintenance of rescue tools. The technical committee on Fire Department Rescue Tools will be working on the development of this new document so stay tuned for opportunities to provide comment. Also in the works for this committee is the revision process for the NFPA 1936 document, Standard on Power Rescue Tools, 2015 edition. The pubic input period will close on July 6, 2015. The committee will meet in October in Daytona Beach for the first draft. Watch for some potentially exciting new changes!
