Tracy Koslowski presents Tanja Tanner with Arizona's Life Safety Educator of the Year award

(Goodyear, AZ) Goodyear Fire Department Community Education Coordinator Tanja Tanner has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Life Safety Educator of the Year by the Arizona Fire and Burn Educators Association.  Tanja was presented the award this week during the 40th annual Arizona State Fire School in Mesa, AZ.  Individuals are nominated and awarded this honor based on their significant accomplishments and contributions in Fire and Life Safety Education in Arizona. Selection of the Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year is firmly established upon outstanding work as an educator, success in increasing public awareness about safety issues, being a positive role model in their community, achievements in the fire and life safety field locally, statewide and nationally, along with a commitment to excellence in their educational efforts.

Interim Fire Chief Paul Luizzi stated “Tanja easily made each and every one of these qualifications and then some”!  He further stated “Tanya’s commitment to keeping our children and community safe was forefront for her selection”.
