In 2007-2011, U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated average of 3,810 structure fires in dormitories, fraternities, sororities, and barracks. These fires caused an annual average of 2 civilian deaths, 30 civilian fire injuries, and $9.4 million in direct property damage.
If you are responsible for fire and life safety on your campus or for your fire department the Campus Fire Forum is a must this fall. The Forum takes place November 4-8, in Saint Louis, MO. This national conference focuses exclusively on campus fire and life-safety issues and offers the opportunity to learn from the experts and interact with campus fire-safety professionals from across the country - and outside the USA. Hundreds of attendees representing colleges, universities, fire officials, city and state authorities and many other disciplines will be in attendance.
