The recipient receives a $1,000 honorarium, a Sparky the Fire Dog statue, and travel to Las Vegas in June 2014 for an award presentation at the general session of the NFPA annual conference. In addition, the recipient’s local fire department will receive a $1,000 donation to support public education activities. Fire and life safety educators can be nominated for the award or they can nominate themselves.
