Anyone who drives into the village of Wauregan, Connecticut, past the Atwood Hose Fire Company where one of NFPA’s regional directors, Robert Duval, is chief, will likely notice the brightly colored Fire Prevention Week banner suspended between two poles in front of the station.  Atwood Hose and many other fire stations in North America are displaying the banner. In preparation for FPW, fire service personnel are reviewing NFPA’s how-to guide for implementing an FPW campaign, drafting news releases and op-ed pieces for their local media from the media materials, requesting proclamations, and planning how to use the safety tips. All these materials are free and can be downloaded from the Fire Service section of the FPW page.

I’d love to hear from you. How is your fire department or school participating in Fire Prevention Week?
