Plans are well underway for this year’s “Swing into Summer Safety” campaign, according to
NFPA Public Education Field Advisor Art Pullan. The Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council

and its sponsors, along with participating fire departments and the support of the Office of the

Fire Marshal and Emergency Management are pleased to partner with the Toronto Blue Jays

to bring the campaign to communities across Ontario.

“Swing into Summer Safety” is about educating and raising awareness among school-age
children and their families about fire safety and other injury prevention.
The campaign will be

kicked off in five municipalities at the same time as the kickoff at the Rogers Centre on June 14,

featuring members of the team along with Sparky the Fire Dog® and Ace, the Blue Jays team mascot.

Participating fire departments throughout the province will host fire safety events in their communities,

and hand out special safety edition baseball card decks, other great giveaways and safety information.
