There is new leadership for the NFPA Urban Fire and Life Safety Task Force. During the second day of its two-day meeting in Boston this week, the Task Force elected Lt. Larry Gray, Cleveland Fire Department, as vice chair (right), and Shelley Steele, community safety officer for Calgary Fire Department, as strategic recorder.

The two join Derrick Sawyer, deputy chief of the Philadelphia Fire Department, in providing leadership for the Task Force. Made up of representatives of large urban fire departments, the Task Force is refining plans for its next project to assist urban fire departments in implementing community risk reduction programs.
