NFPA staffer creates Halloween fun with Sparky the Fire Dog

Just in time for Halloween, NFPA Public Education Division Regional Education Specialist Jeff Donahue has carved a jack-o’-lantern in the outline of Sparky the Fire Dog®. The Halloween Pumpkin Template, on the activities page of, instructs kids–young and old–on carving a pumpkin into a “Sparky-o’-lantern.” Jeff says the task was fun and simple using the easy-to-follow directions. Once he was done creating his masterpiece, he fitted it with a battery operated candle and placed it on his porch. The glowing Sparky is sure to attract trick-or-treaters from all around.
