If you are new to fire pump design or installation or just have not designed or installed a fire pump assembly in a while you may find Part I, which was added to the 2013 handbook of NFPA 20, helpful. It provides examples of various pump configurations and explains the purpose of the components, diagrammatically shows component placement, and where to find the requirement for the components in the NFPA 20 Standard. Below see an example of what you can find in Part I.
