Hi,

I am in the process of designing a sprinkler system for a comercial warehouse in Uruguay.

Analyzing the products to be stored I´ve noticed that some of them are alcoholic beverages containting up to 50% alcohol.

In the 2013 edition of NFPA 13 beverages with an alcohol content up to 50%  stored in glass bottles were classified as class IV commodities.

However in  the following editions there is no classification for said products which leaves a void.

My question is, how to protect a racked warehouse containing mainly Class IV commodities including a few pallets (around 20) containing liquors such as vodka, whisky, brandy, etc.

Does the 2013 definition still apply? in that case ESFR Sprinklers is the most convenient solution?

Are any additional requirements?

Was that deffinition removed from NFPA 13 to be treated separately by another code?

In that case, can you point me in the correct direction?

Look forward to your reply

regards
