Would you be interested in a Enforcer (AHJ) section on Xchange. This website has the potential to draw from member's experience to be a resource for others with questions and ideas.
As the NFPA's Segment Director for Enforcers I work exclusively with stakeholders in the area of code enforcement. I'd love to see an active group like this take shape. Please reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions on how the NFPA can better support you.
Nicole would the NFPA help assist us if we where to get this group up and running with infroamtion access and a point of contact to bring new people into the world of the NFPA. Giving people just a name and email is something that they want just to be able to contact someone when they need a question answered.
What exactly are you looking for, Patrick? We have formal section memberships, but there isn't an inspection section (currently). In terms of getting questions answered, what type of questions are you referring to? We have a Technical Questions services that is available as part of membership or at no charge to public-sector officials, AHJs. Info on that can be found here: http://www.nfpa.org/codes-and-standards/resources/nfpa-technical-questions
If you're looking for an online community for inspectors that lives here within Xchange, that certainly is something I can look into.
We're willing to listen to any and all suggestions, and we will do what we can. Let me know by replying here or directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for asking!
Nicole I think a section for inspectors on line community to go to to ask questions and get feed back, The NFPA is and has always been a great asset for AHJ's but maybe having a general forum where they can go to to see if other issues have come up or problem than can either get the information or contact that AHJ for assistance.
Just to be clear, do you mean a community where AHJs could ask questions of each other as a resource in addition to the NFPA Technical Questions service? Let me know so I follow up appropriately.
Yes sorry Nicole, was doing two things at once and didn't make myself clear a online community for AHJs to ask each other questions and get infroamtion if needed.
Excellent! We have a new community manager and I am going to put my head together with hers on this!
Great thanks please if you anything from me let me know
I'm in! "Let's get it started in here!"
