Most industries don't allow plant operators to perform tasks such as racking breaker, changing fuses and inspections inside electrical cabinets with exposed conductors over 50 volts. For those industries that do allow operations to perform these tasks, do they choose to go ahead and put these operators in arc-rated daily wear (shirt & pants) or, does the employer just require that they put on a set of arc-rated coveralls or 40 cal. suit each time this type of task is performed? What does your plant do?
