The following by-law changes will be brought to the membership meeting on June 12, 2016 at 3pm in Las Vegas, NV.

 

Replace 3.6 If at any time, a member accepts a position or engages in conduct that, in the opinion of the executive board, conflicts with the interests and values of that association, the executive board may, with a minimum of 75% vote of the entire executive board in the affirmative, remove, temporarily suspend or revoke that member from the association.  The member shall have the right to appeal to the executive board.

 

Change 4.7 In the case of a vacancy in any office, the remaining officers shall ascend to the next highest position and the Executive Board shall have the authority to fill the vacant Secretary position until the next Annual meeting.

 

Revise 5.2.1 The board shall consist of a minimum of one member, but not more than four members, from each of the following categories, for a total of eight,  not including the immediate past president:
(a) members representing a State Fire Marshal Office,
(b) members representing populations greater than 50,000, and
(c) members representing populations of less than 50,000.

 

New 5.10 If at any time, a member of the executive board accepts a position or engages in conduct that, in the opinion of the executive board, conflicts with the interests and values of that association, the executive board may, with a minimum of 75% vote of the entire executive board in the affirmative, remove, temporarily suspend or revoke that member from the association.  The member shall have the right to appeal to the executive board.

 

New 7.5 If at any time, a chapter engages in conduct that, in the opinion of the executive board, conflicts with the interests and values of that association, the executive board may, with a minimum of 75% vote of the entire executive board in the affirmative, remove, temporarily suspend or revoke that chapter from the association. The chapter shall have the right to appeal to the executive board.

 

New 8.9 If a nominee is unable to fulfill the position between the submission of the nominating committee report and the business meeting, a 66% vote of the entire executive board shall be able to modify the nominating committee report prior to the business meeting.
