National Campus Fire Safety Month

Discussion created by Courtney Oneill Employee on Jan 11, 2016

A letter, co-signed by parents who have lost children in college-related fires, has been sent to the nation's governors asking them to designate September 2016 as National Campus Fire Safety Month. Since this program started in 2005, there have been 334 proclamations issued, along with resolutions in the United States Senate and House of Representatives.

You can help be a key part of this by contacting your governor and asking for a proclamation...there is nothing like hearing from a constituent!  You can find a link to the offices of all 50 governors as well as a copy of the letter with suggested language for a proclamation at Campus Firewatch's proclamation page.

Thanks for all of your help!
