Neither the town or the state inspectors, who have ordered certain repairs, will admit there is something seriously wrong in a certain apartment building here. Our counsel is suggesting that we hire an expert. Can anyone help us?
You might give James Munger a call, he may know someone up that way
Munger & Associates, Inc.
Are your issues structural, electrical, plumbing, or ???
I would suggest that you or your counsel contact a registered fire protection engineer to evaluate the building in question. They should be able to complete a code review of the building and identify deficiencies.
Sounds like something I do. Send more details, please. firstname.lastname@example.org
Most life-safety inspections are performed by a team. The makeup can vary but typically includes: fire protection, structural, mechanical and electrical. Other team members can include: civil engineers or architects.
Assessments are carried out differently depending on the inspectors's discipline. Architects and civil engineers view static conditions and can visually see defects. Mechanical and electrical engineers evaluate existing equipment to verify that they are performing to their intended design function: the equipment has to be running.
