We have a small apartment building with a walkway/entrance that is set back into the ground floor, so the rest of the levels are above it. The building of combustible wood construction and the walkway/canopy area is 6' wide. The area will not be used for storage or parking, just as a covered entrance to the building. Above the walkway is a 2nd storey apartment unit (light hazard). The rest of the building is sprinklered, does the walkway into the building also need to be sprinklered? I appreciate any input.
