For biogas reactors and storage tanks what does NFPA recommend or states, Hydrants and FE as NFPA 820 table 6.2.2(a)?
Biogas facilities does not seem to fit within the scope of NFPA 820. If the biogas plant is for electricity generation, then NFPA 850 will be more appropiate. If it will be for other uses, then NFPA 54 and 55 are the standard to reference.
Generally, for these type of facilities the insurance company (FM Global, XL, Zurich, Liberty, etc.) have very specific requirements. The owner should ask the insurance company to do a plan review/risk evaluation to determine what type of fire protection they deem necessary.
Thanks Emmanuel, I will check them. The plant would probably be used for energy in the future so I believe we should use 850
