We have all seen the pictures and videos of injuries sustained from electric shock and arc flash. If you are an electrical worker perhaps you have a personal story or two to tell yourself. I would like to begin this discussion focusing primarily on what we can do to avoid these type of incidents. Some might say that there is inherent risk involved in working with electricity and that incidents are going to happen and it is just a matter of time. Maybe I used to think that way too, not anymore. Electrical safety CAN be managed and it begins with discussions like this one. My question to you is this; looking back on your personal experience as an electrical worker or working around electrical installations, what risks have been taken and what can we do to change the mindset of the electrical worker today?
