Subject : sway bracing of risers in multistory buildings

According to NFPA-13,, four-way bracing shall not be required where risers penetrate intermediate floors in multistory buildings where the clearance does not exceed the limits of 9.3.4.

It is understood that four-way bracing shall not be required if clearance shall be provided around risers in intermediate floors of multistory buildings in accordance with and

To persuade our client or consultant, we need more detailed reasons or back-ground explanation for the above four-way bracing not required.

Support of riser shall be provided in accordance with NFPA-13, 9.2.5.
