I am looking to charge an electric vehicle using an flexible cord, but the cord must be run through a sliding doorway. This is not permitted under 400.8(3):

"Unless specifically permitted in 400.7, flexible cords[...] shall not be used for the following:

(3) Where run through doorways, windows or other similar openings"

Under 400.7, there are two exceptions which seem potentially relevant

"(3) Connection of portable luminaries, portable and mobile signs, or appliances

(6) Connection of utilization equipment to facilitate frequent interchange"

It seems to me that the electric vehicle could count as a portable appliance or utilization equipment.

Is this a valid exception, and would it allow me to run a cable through a doorway in order to charge my car?
