Please advise me the requirement of Power shunt in Electrical room which is protected by both FM-200 and Pre action sytem
Design specification only shows NFPA 72, 70 and 2001. Not showing correct requirement for shunt trip on clean agent system activation.
But NFPA 75 shows the requirement of shunt trip up on the activation of gaseous total flooding extinguishing system.
Can any one advise me Still I need to consider NFPA 75 or not.
What kind of project is this (commercial, municipal, government?) and the relevant Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)?
For instance, is it a commercial project designed in accordance with a version of the International Building/Fire Codes or maybe a military project designed to UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA 101?
Need more details otherwise there are too many options available.
For example if this is a DoD Army project designed in accordance with UFC 3-600-01, then it references a requirement for shunting power in an electronic equipment installation protected by sprinklers and/or clean agent systems (section 4-11. 6); a manual means is optional if staffed 24/7.
A quick check of the 2015 International Building Code shows that it does not adopt NFPA 75, so that document can't be enforced as code per se.
NFPA 75/76 from my experience are more design "standards" than "codes".
