The sprikler system it's on an old building, what we did was a remodelation, some pipes were moved some weren't.
The building has a main drain for each of the floors, and we leaved an auxiliary drain connected to the drain of the sink.
Inspector's test valves are installed anywhere in the sprinkler system pass the waterflow indicator switch or alarm pressure switch. It's purpose is to test if the fire alarm does work in case the sprinkler system operates. Basically for every waterflow/pressure switch a inspector's test valve is needed. Some designers/contractors prefer to have them just after the waterflow/pressure switch while others prefer to have them installed at the furthermost location form the system's valve. Some contractors even install combined test/drain valves in one location to avoid installing separate valves.
