Ceiling Radiant Fire Dampers

Question asked by Scott Campbell on Dec 12, 2016

Hello,

I am preparing for fire damper/inspections.  Specifically the requirement for the testing (1) year after construction and every (4) years after.  This is a healthcare facility.

Our sheetrock ceilings are one hour rated, so every single HVAC or exhaust register has a ceiling radiant damper with a fusible link.  There are over 300 of them.  I am assuming everyone of these has to be inspected/tested per NFPA 80, correct?  Someone was trying to tell me it was just the ones in the attic fire walls where duct penetrates those.

Thank you
