In the NFPA and specifically with exercise stress tests performed in assessing candidates physical ability to perform the job of FF, is the Bruce Protocol Stress test or Exercise Stress Test referenced in the NFPA code?

I have a matter where a firefighter candidate did not pass a stress test based on the Bruce Protocol or Exercise Tolerance Test  which I understand requires 4 stages, each state 3 minutes with a total 12 minute duration. The doctor performing the test cited to the NFPA standards and cited to the Bruce Protocol also called the Exercise Tolerant Test. However I do not see reference to those tests in the NFPA guidelines. Are they referenced in the guidelines?
