where in 80 can I find the installation tolerances for Smoke rated doors, for a healthcare facility?
Smoke doors you can find in NFPA 105, Standard for Smoke Door Assemblies and Other Opening Protectives,
My experience from inspecting healthcare facilities and for those following the discussion here are some pertinent standards for healthcare facilities from NFPA 105 2016 edition. Most of my citations dealt with the lack of a bevel or astragal at the meeting edges of a pair of doors.
Acceptable door edges (horizontal section at meeting edge)
Most Healthcare Organizations are following the 2012 edition of the Life Safety Code which references the 2010 edition of NFPA 80. In NFPA 80 the clearances values you requested (also back referenced in NFPA 105) are found in 4.8.4 and 184.108.40.206. These clearances apply to both new and existing installations as referenced in 220.127.116.11.
Please be sure to always measure your clearances from the "pull" side of the door. Especially those doors with beveled meeting edges will have clearances that appear to be greater than what is permitted on the "push" side.
