Hazard Identification Training & Certification Project

Question asked by Nicole Comeau Employee on Apr 27, 2017

Here at NFPA we are continually looking at ways to realize our vision of eliminating death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards.  We're exploring the development of a hazard identification training and certification program that would be aimed at company-level firefighters who are not necessarily fire inspectors but who need to know what to look for to identify potential safety (fire) hazards.  In order to do this, we are forming a certification advisory group (CAG) to help design and review the proposed program.  If you are someone who needs this level of awareness or who supervises individuals who do and you are interested in volunteering a few hours of time as part of this CAG, we would like to hear from you.

Please contact Leon Katcharian, Certification Director at lkatcharian@nfpa.org or 617-984-7086 to express interest or with any questions.

As always, if you have any general code enforcement issues or concerns, please get in touch with me.

Thanks,

Nicole
