NFPA 13 - 2016 8.15.8.2 eliminated the reference to...the least dimension does not exceet 3ft.  Is this in error or can this dimenstion be ignored.

It appears that in NFPA 13 – 2016 they have taken out …the least dimension does not exceed 3 ft, requirement,  but did leave in that if it is over 24SF it will require fire protection. Is this in error or can I ignore the dimesnion requirement as in NFPA 13-2013 and prior
