As per NFPA, there is 2 codes covering the mechanical ventilation for smoke control, NFPA 204 and NFPA 92,
Which Code should be applicable for the design/ calculation of mechanical ventilation for warehouse? And Why ?
NFPA 204: This standard establishes guidelines for the design of venting systems for the emergency venting of products of combustion from fires in buildings. Both manual and computer-modeled solution methods are incorporated to help designers meet selected performance objectives related to a specific building and a specific set of circumstances. For use in non-sprinklered buildings.
NFPA 92: This standard protects life and reduces property loss by establishing requirements for the design, installation, and testing of smoke control systems used to mitigate the impact of smoke from fire. For use in atrium smoke control in sprinklered buildings.
