Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Remembering When Scholarship Conference. If you are interested in learning more about how to help older adults in your community reduce fire and falls risks at home, consider pulling a team together and sending in an application. This program is designed to be implemented by community partners including at least one member of the fire department and one member of the community who works with older adult residents. Conference participants will learn to facilitate Remembering When group presentations and home visits. The expenses-paid training will be held in Nashville, TN on November 1-3. I visited one of the teams who attended the 2016 conference in San Antonio at a graduation luncheon of 34 older adults who participated in their local program yesterday. I can tell you first hand that this program has an impressive impact on the residents in the community. Check out the details at www.nfpa.org/rememberingwhen.
