Construction - Temporary Separation Walls

I'm a healthcare construction manager and I'm looking for some interpretation on the NFPA 241 regarding "Temporary Separation Walls" in healthcare construction.

8.6.2.4* Nonrated walls and opening protectives shall be permitted when an approved automatic sprinkler system is installed.

Annex A: Explanatory Material: A.8.6.2.4 Construction tarps would not be considered appropriate barriers or opening protectives.

Question #1:

How does NFPA define an "approved automatic sprinkler system"?

Question #2:

What does NFPA define as "Construction tarps"?
