Are there any Building Code or near-Building Code (IBC or Life Safety Code) requirements for carbon monoxide alarm ?
IBC and IRC
will have to look for which edition and section
In the 2015 IBC look at section 915
In the 2015 IRC look at section R315
NFPA 101 also requires CO detection in some chapters. Depends on the occupancy and whether it's new or existing if I recall correctly.
I am the requestor. The answer with links gave direct YES answers and also led me past a section which requires a fire alarm be linked to a constantly attended location. I have needed this information for years. Thank you very much.
I normally ask what building code or code and year edition you are under, because the requirement has changed or been added, depending on the year you have to comply with.
