Electrical Safety for Non-Electricians Certification Project

Discussion created by ldangelo Employee on Aug 22, 2017

Here at NFPA we are continually looking at ways to realize our vision of eliminating death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards.

We are exploring the development of an electrical safety certification program based on NFPA 70E that would be aimed at people who are not electricians, but who are exposed to electrical hazards and would benefit from a knowledge and understanding of the electrical safety principles in NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.

This would include skilled workers and technicians in the HVAC, renewable energy, automotive, and other industries as well as facility managers in commercial and industrial settings.

In order to do this, we are forming a Certification Advisory Group (CAG) to help design and review the proposed program. If you are someone who needs this level of awareness or who supervises individuals who do and you are interested in volunteering a few hours of time as part of this CAG, we would like to hear from you.
