NFPA 110, states: “All installations shall have a remote manual stop station of a type to prevent inadvertent or unintentional operation located outside the room housing of the prime mover",

Appendix A- suggests: "For systems located outdoors, the manual shutdown should be located external to the weatherproof enclosure and should be appropriately identified."

The question is, according to A5.6.5.6 can the required manual shutdown switch be mounted on the outside of a housing enclosing an outdoor generator unit or does NFPA 110 require it to be located remotely on the premises (30 feet away for example)?
