Is it allowed to install any type of control valve downstream from where the FDC ties into the system. If so, must they be supervised?
Not sure where you want to put the valve?
But an example would floor control valves are installed after the fdc.
Plus dry systems there are valves after the fdc
Is this for a new or existing system??
Do you want to add some details
I was having a discussion with another individual and he believed that no valves were allowed in the system after the point where the FDC connects into it, the thought being that the FDC was the last line of defense even if the water were turned off a fire engine can connect to the system and supply it.. I thought that they were allowed but then the question came up whether they had to be supervised or not. Just trying to sort it out and I could not find the answer in the book so I sent it out to the community.
It would be like a ganged set of risers and fdc feeding under the valves
Like in this picture
i want to say the fdc is the pipe to the right feeding all the rissrs
