Does any one knows what are the life safety requirements for a building or facility occupied by special needs children?
Sorry need a little more clarity on this one its this for residential overnight stay or day care style set up?
It's a daycare style set up.
In the US??
Best would be in a Building with a full fire sprinkler system.
Minmum fire alarm system , with smoke detectors in sleeping rooms.
For rooms with children three and under, door directly to the outside from each room.
Proper exiting through out.
Ground level space only
Wheelchair ramps at all exits
Just to mention a few major items
Usually we begin with classifications i.e. use group classification and construction type. Also, AAB Rules and /regulations in Massachusetts 521 CMR...
Id say review chapters 15 & 16 in NFPA 101. Check with you local AHJ governing body for requirements these are Texas's Department of Family & Protective Services requirements DFPS - Child Care Minimum Standards
