What does NFPA 13 2007 mean in Section 126.96.36.199 by "outside sprinklers?" What are outside sprinkler?
7.8 does not cover it, but could also be for like a wood cooling tower, or tank protection
Exposure Protection. As 7.8 says they're sprinkler heads installed on the outside of the building to prevent an outside fire from igniting the protected building. We have some in our downtown area, presumably installed due to very limited setbacks between buildings with combustible siding. One other places we have them on an old high hazard building that at one time contained EHS chemicals, again I suspect they wanted/needed to do everything they could to minimize ignition from an outside source. In our case, they are dry systems due to our seasonal temperature changes.
