I live in Albuquerque NM. A house next to my rental property was mostly gutted due to a smoke fire over 10 years ago. The floor joists are exposed, most walls are missing, an extension cord has been run from the outside electrical panel to the inside, the inside is littered with wood, and uninstalled appliances cabinets. It was partially boarded after long term squatters were removed. How can I prove to our code enforcement officers this structure is a fire hazard and a danger to 1st responders who may have to enter in an emergency? Our Code Enforcement thinks partial boarding and weed control is sufficient to allow the owner to do nothing.
