I saw in our Manufacturers Guidelines that it states in BOLD and UNDERLINE not to machine dry turnout gloves but no reason was given.  I asked them about it and they couldn't give me a solid reason for this as they said they were not part of NFPA 1851.  So now I am reaching out to you guys. I looked at NFPA 1851 and it basically says the same thing, don't machine dry.  Can you tell me the reason for this?  I am a member of our safety committee and I'm putting out a gear cleaning tip for our members and I'm sure they will asked why we don't machine dry gloves and I would like to give them an answer other then the guidelines say not too.
