I need some insight or direction. I have a building with 59 resident rooms that i have a pending system install proposal out for with an obsolete system. There are 14 bathrooms in this building (bathrooms are shared) 2 on floor 1 and 4 per floors 2, 3 and 4. These were all built on top of each other so when the bathroom on the 4th floor floods, it goes down into all of the other bathrooms...gets into the heat detectors installed in them and creates nuisance alarms constantly. So the customer asked if there was any potential to remove these heat devices since the bathrooms are fully sprinkled as well. I asked the AHJ this question and was told that unless myself or an FPE could show or prove by code otherwise they have to remain? If these bathrooms are sprinkled, I am not understanding this. Any advice on where to look?
