High-Rise Notification

In a typical high-rise, it is our local AHJ and my understanding that it is acceptable for occupant notification during a fire alarm to be the floor of initiation, one floor above and one floor below. This scenario of operation is found in the 101 (9.6.3.6.2) with additional explanatory material in the annex. I can not locate any additional support or contradiction of this in the IFC or IBC. My question is, is there any national code requiring additional notification to be made by live voice or otherwise to the un-impacted floors of a high-rise building? If so, where can I locate this?
