Concealed Sprinkler Head Escutcheon Clearance

Good afternoon.  I'm trying to find where in NFPA 13 (2013 edition) or NFPA 25 (2014 edition) that the gap between the concealed sprinkler head escutcheon and ceiling is referenced and what the maximum gap would be?

I found that a 3/32" air gap is required per the Tyco install cut sheet for proper functioning of their concealed heads.  I can't find any other reference.

Thank you.
