As an electrical inspector I was asking the Lightning protection contractor how they were verifying torqued value of the bolted clamped cable connections on the roof of the building.

Am I being over zealous in my inspection duties. I did contact the equipment manufacturer and was provided a written recommended torque setting. The LP contractor has basically said these instructions are suggestions and they do not have to verify this for their LPI certificate and were not going to comply with my request. Thanks in advance for your insights on the matter.
