This multi-part question is specifically concerning single-family dwellings with fewer than 12 interconnected wired consumer smoke alarms.

1. Should these alarms be on a dedicated circuit in the panel?

2. If some of these are located in locations requiring AFCI receptacles, should the circuit be AFCI protected?

3. Are there locations that would require GFCI protection on the circuit as well?

4. Are there circumstances that would prohibit AFCI or GFCI protection?

Thank you.
