We are located in Maryland. We are a assisted living and long term care facility within a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Thanks for any guidance.
NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Code in 184.108.40.206.4.1 requires an NFPA 110 Level 1, Type 10, Class X generator set.
Level 1 = NEC 700 Emergency System
Type 10 = 10 sec maximum for transfer to generator power
Class X= Other time, in hours, as required by the application, code, or user.
Typically the duration of fuel will be determined by the Administrator for the Health Care Facility, if the fuel source is diesel. For Natural Gas generators, where approved by the AHJ's, the public utility gas supply is indefinite
