I have a question about the design of fire water pumping station developed based in the NFPA 20, where the main pump is electrical (MT 6kV) while backup pump is an engine-driven motor pump. The question is about the position of MCC because as per NFPA 20 sect. A.10.8 seems possibile to install MCC in the pump controller enclosure or in a different room (electrical sub-station is my case). Just let me specify that the local control panel ( at pumps room) consist of controller (PLC) linked to sensing line while electrical contactor /MCC is located in a dedicated electrical sub-station ( at safe area) , activated by direct connection (hardwired from local panel to MCC).
